James Huggins 

	James "Jim" Huggins, age 67, died on May 18, 2003 at 11:15 a.m. while staying at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.  
	James was born on February 28, 1936 in Du Quoin, Illinois to Leonard Huggins & Eunice (Barrett) Huggins.  He married Linda (Preston) Huggins on January 9, 1955 in Benton, Missouri.  Throughout his life, James worked in the printing industry before he retired from World Color Press-Quebecor World on January 1, 1999.  After his retirement, James worked as a color consultant with a Chicago magazine.  He was also a former pastor at Jackson Township Baptist Church in Effingham County, Dietrich Baptist Church in Dietrich, Illinois and East Hickory Hill Baptist Church in Jefferson County.  
	Mr. Huggins was ordained as a minister on April 29, 1973.  He was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church and the Adult 2 Sunday School Class.  Jim loved the Lord and also his family, which were a very special part of his life.  He loved gardening, books and his grandchildren.  He was very much loved by his family and friends.  
	James is survived by his wife Linda Huggins of Mt. Vernon, IL, daughters Dorice Gualdoni and husband Andy of Johnston City, IL, and Cathy Kim Miller and husband Jim of Effingham, IL, mother Eunice Huggins of Du Quoin,IL, mother-in-law Clementine Preston of Pinckneyville,IL, grandsons Luca Gualdoni, Nicolai Gualdoni, Josh Miller,  Chris Miller, brother Ronald "Ron" Huggins & wife Jackie of Tamaroa, IL, brother-in-law Gene Preston & wife Marie of Sparta,IL, three nieces and two nephews.  His father and grandparents preceded him in death.  
	Visitation was from 5 until 8 PM on Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM until the funeral hour on Wednesday at Logan Street Baptist Church.  The funeral was at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Logan Street Baptist Church.  Burial was at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville, Illinois.  
	For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Logan Street Baptist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, PO Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
